How Blessed I am to take every breathe. The Joy is overwhelming and must be spread and shared. Organic Fitness is teaching at Broward College until May which is a cherished opportunity. Permaculture is the major curriculum for Organic Fitness personal studies and is being applied in an urban setting with 3 layers in an apartment.
2009
An entire year of Love and Gratitude! So much has gone on there has not been an update! Organic Fitness has continued the curriculum throughout 2009 and again in 2010 with Introduction to Wellness. Jamaica was outstanding throughout the month of September in Little Bay, Westmoreland. The month of October was a prize as well in Uvita, Costa Rica at Cascada Verde Organic Permaculture farm. To many stories to tell, and so much learned. Here are some pictures from this great adventure of farming, permaculture, and Organic Fitness seminars.

cumulative miles from Marathon to Key West...Joy and Faith took me
home. Danced around fires to celebrate the Solstice and set intentions
and the Earth and Us farm.

What a beautiful world with beautiful people- as Organic Fitness celebrated the new year in the Netherlands to unite with France, Germany, Austria, Russia, Japan, England, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Holland, Dubia, Italy, Ireland, and many other blessed countries...thank you all. Visited the Hortis Botanicas which houses over 6,000 different species of medicinal plants started in the 1700's being one of the 3 oldest and largest in the world. Stepped food in buildings from the 1200's. United with Jay's Juice of Amsterdam to stay healthy in the city- go see him for a shot of homegrown wheat grass and tell him Organic Fitness sent you! Mr. Keith Lopez of Organic Fitness becomes a wellness teacher at Broward Community College! ...since one aspect of wellness is environmental wellness, a veggie-Benz is in order...100% vegetable 84 Benz is how Organic Fitness travels to class!!! Organic Farming Books studied and farm-warming parties are celebrated. A Local orange distributor (oalkland and 56th) is found, named Gonzales #(954-746-2289)...wild and fresh!
Hugh Birch Park
hosts a drum circle in which free spirited organic workout dance is
practiced. The Buddhist Meditation Center is founded in Fort Lauderdale
of prospect, and thanks is giving every Thursday at 7:30pm. The reading enlightenment club is formed at the kavakava bar on sunrise in Fort
Lauderdale every Wednesday night. A Half Marathon is ran by Organic
Fitness in sunny So-Flo. Another drum circle is celebrated with the
winter solstice at the pompano pier with an amazing synergy between
drummer and Organic dance. Connecticut gives a warm welcome with 30 degree
weather and OrganicFitness visits the J.C.C.S. to share secrets, along
with a 6 mile run in the snow!

The Garden of JAH is being laid out with the help of Mike and Family. Compost has been created with fruit and vegetable scraps to become dirt which has nourished to life sunflower and daikon radish sprouts. Sunrise productions has released a limited edition Organic Fitness Beach Workout. Constant revisions have been made to the OGFit.com and OrganicFitness Books are now available for free download.

The Long awaited
and intricately studied raw food culture is completely incorporated to
Organic Fitness. Sprouting, garden set-ups, and wheat-grass growing is
fully incorporated into Organic Fitness. The full spectrum of health is
now available upon demand of what the people need. Constant research is
done while Organic Fitness is in its first years with primary attention
from founder Keith Lopez. Concentrations on existing clients, farming,
botany, herbalism course-work, studying of wild edibles such as flowers,
roots, barks, and herbs.
A Story of how it started....the OGFit BIO-
My name is Keith Lopez. I began my journey of everlasting health upon completion of high school. It was a rough start, but I enjoyed every minute of it...the journey itself was the true adventure. I was severely de conditioned during that time period; it was a long slow climb to physical fitness. I began by running around the block and playing basketball. As I tried to speed up this process of fitness, I joined some friends at the local gym. It was a big corporate gym that brought intimidation into my mind, but I just followed my friends who were avid weightlifters. They pushed me and encouraged me to lift more weight that I thought I would be able to lift. I lifted it, but I was sore for weeks. I never wanted to go back to a gym again in hopes of avoiding this terrible feeling of pain and discomfort that was disabling my daily movement. However, this intense intimidation and pain faded over time with the power of knowledge. This new found knowledge made the difference and I realized that a person could spend 2 hours a day in the gym to obtain 30% body fat and another person could spend 2 hours a week exercising to obtain 10% body fat. In other words, time is not the only factor of a workout program. Instead of letting time rule my life, I made time adapt to my life. And to make sure it became a part of my habitual routine, I told myself that if I could find time to brush my teeth, then I could find time to work out.
I began truly enjoying my
workouts when I first went to college in Georgia. While in college, I
studied exercise and health sciences with a concentration in health
promotion. In class, I had the privilege of hearing fact after fact of
how exercise and nutrition can help you in every day life. The facts of
health motivated me and propelled me to stay active. I could no longer
let a day go by without activity. I could not let myself become
sedentary, even for one day, after learning that the physical and mental
impact can be more life –threatening than any other modality.
This life changing knowledge was not the only reason I began to love my
workouts and look forward to them. The enjoyment and passion also came
from the type of exercise and the person who guided me through those
workouts. That person was Dr. Wayne Van Horne. Dr. Van Horne instructs
Koshiski Sakagawa Shorinji-Ryu Karate Do at my college campus with
passion and complete dedication. I had no choice but to absorb this
passion and dedication. He changed my life.
I realized that I can change my
body to look better, feel better, and react better. I also experienced
my mind working better, with more clarity and a greater ability to
focus. This increase in blood flow to my brain certainly reflected in my
grades, which confirmed that exercise and nutrition increase the
brain’s the ability to learn. The exponential benefits of exercise
enabled me to stay committed to a progressive fitness program that is
still evolving.
Upon completion of college I moved back to Connecticut to start my
internship at a nutrition center for a large inner-city school system. I
was shocked that this was called a nutrition center since the food
offered possessed little nutrition. No fresh fruits or vegetables were
offered due to the ease of storing frozen or canned produce. The meals
did not look appetizing, so I didn’t even opt to eat a free lunch! This
could easily explain why children eat french fries and soda or a
pre-packaged cup cake in lieu of a healthy balanced lunch. That’s
unfortunately what I ate for the majority of my high school career and I
fear I’m not alone. These eating habits might also explain the stomach
pain I experienced daily for most of my life.
I constantly spoke with the
nutritionist that developed the menus in hopes of spurring change. She
agreed that we needed to include fresh produce and more appetizing meals
in the menu, but unfortunately this was not accomplished during the
duration of my internship. However, I have witnessed schools that have
increased the nutritional quality of the food served and there was a
direct correlation with increased productivity, focus, and overall test
scores.
After my internship, I started my first job out of college with high
expectations. I worked with a large company that outfits fitness centers
in the corporate work place. I was able to experience two large,
multimillion dollar companies named UBS Warburg and Ford. During this
time, I witnessed many different teaching and motivational styles of
fitness. Instructor techniques varied when motivating a bodybuilder
versus someone that has over 30% body fat. I learned quickly and my
training as a great motivator began. I found myself teaching unorthodox
fitness routines and encouraging my clients to do more than working out
in the gym. My clients would constantly speak with excitement regarding
the wholesome foods they had been eating. I recently spoke with one of
my clients from a community center where I worked after my experience
with corporate fitness. She told me that she still hears my voice
pushing her to capability. She still practices many exercises that I had
taught her in addition to her current workouts with a personal trainer.
When I worked at a local community center in Connecticut, I found that it was a great balance to my past career experience. It was an opposing setting from the previous job I had in the corporate world. I taught many fitness classes and trained people from ages of 8 to 83. I began molding my own fitness techniques though research and experience. I constantly worked to refine my fitness program to mold to any goal, body type, age or gender. Regardless of conditioning or time schedule, I was determined to create a fitness program that would make anyone and everyone healthier. I can now guarantee this claim to better health for anyone and this is why I created this website. Dear Keith,
Just a letter to express my gratitude for all of your help. When I started training with you , I weighed 220 lbs. With your expertise and knowledge and my will and determination, I now weigh 183 lbs (it only took 5 months, the slower you lose it, the easier it is to keep off) That is almost 40 lbs of fat gone forever! Eight months later, I still eat and train just as hard if not harder. Your supervision of my diet was an aspect of your program that no other trainer has ever done for me. As you know I own a restaurant and am around lots of food that tastes great but is sooooo bad for you. Now my normal choices are grilled chicken and fish, broccoli, and lots of delicious salads. I now eat lots of fruits and vegetables, I stay away from refined grains, and I love life. I feel great. At 38 years old, I feel like I’m in my early 20’s. I even did a 75 mile bike ride to the keys just 3 months after we started our training. Keep up the good work and if anyone has any doubt that they can do it, have them call me!
I trained with
Keith Lopez for two years. As a 30-something mother of two boys, I knew
nothing about fitness. In fact, I had never participated in sports or
any other athletic activity. I didn't even understand where my biceps
and triceps were, and I had never done a single push-up in my life. I
started training with the intent to do just a few sessions to learn the
basics, but he always made the sessions so fun, innovative, and
challenging that I kept buying more sessions for two years. I would
still be training with him if he hadn't relocated. As a result of his
extreme patience, dedication, and encouragement I can now do exercises
that I never could have imagined were possible for me. I can do 15+
pull-ups consecutively, multiple types of push-ups and I can bench press
my own body weight - all with perfect form. He always said that he
would never ask me to try an exercise that I wasn't capable of so I just
assumed I must be able to do the exercise and forgot to doubt myself.
Most importantly, my increased self esteem
translated to other areas of my life. Now I serve as role-model to other
women who want to reach the levels that I have. The fact that I
continue to inspire others keeps me motivated. When I'm doing all the
exercises he taught me I still hear his instructions and remember how
important perfect form is. There is always room for improvement so I
continue to challenge myself farther, both in exercise and nutrition. In
fact, during my vacation I plan to work out on the beach with friends,
just because it's fun! Thanks to Keith Lopez I feel healthy and strong
and have a lifelong passion for exercise. I will never forget how
valuable his sessions were.

I only do bodyweight exercises with
emphasis on my core and I was becoming a bit stagnant. Keith showed me
some new routines including the Muscle-Up, which until then I had no
clue how it was done. Keith walked me through the steps. I was
unsuccessful the first few times and would have probably given up, but
